A Camping Flight to Lowlands Paradise

During 3 days in August a temporary town arises in the country fields near Biddinghuizen. This tent city is known to its temporary 55,000 inhabitants as Lowlands. Many of these people are so proud of their status that when returning to their permanent residence they continue wearing their Lowlands wristbands. It's sort of a symbolic statement. Lowlands is happening! Not only does it offer an impressive progressive musical program with bands such as TOOL, NINE INCH NAILS and THE EDITORS There is the possibility to chill out and take in the visual arts, film, (street) theatre, stand- up comedy, listen to contemporary Dutch literature and dance into the early morning hours with top (inter)national DJ's.

Ampco Pro Rent is honored to be entrusted since 1993 with the technical realization for this entire festival. Just to give an impression of the festivalâ?Ts volume 450 cubic meters with a weight of roughly 112 ton top quality audio equipment. This sound equipment is packed in flight cases by Ampco Pro Rent and shipped to the festival grounds. With all this gear 19 separate sound systems are created. Just in the Alpha tent alone there is 2931,5m cable used. These installations are set up, connected and operated by 40 professional technicians and supervised by 3 production managers; Natasja Geerdink, Kees Heegstra and Hayo den Boeft.

Taking into realization that during this festival Ampco Pro Rent also accommodates for other festivals such as the Prinsengracht concert for The AVRO network station, a big part of the Amsterdam's Grachten festival and the sound for Sweelpop a big festival in the northeast of Holland. It's therefore not difficult to understand the hustle and bustle that takes place at Ampco's warehouse forehand.
